the artist collaborated with a group of fellow artists and close friends to stage a happening in which they would generate a series of paintings from materials every person brought with them, deciding as a collective when the paintings were finished and the way each would look. the shared consciousness of the happening and the final works challenge the ideas we hold about ownership and authorship. who owns the paintings? the artist who staged the happening or the collaborators who generated the work?
some of these paintings went on to be placed in the artist's garden to accrew damage from the natural elements, toying with the idea of nature as being a secondary collaborator in the piece.
